Bias/Diagonal
Bias-ply tires have at least two crossed cords, forming a bead to provide a frictional relationship with the rim. They are characterized by stiffness, affecting traction and moment of inertia, and dampen vibrations through crossed cords layers (increased rolling resistance). The speed is limited to 100 km/h, which excludes their use in passenger cars, but they work well in duty vehicles, off-road vehicles, etc.
Radial
In a radial tire, the wires are connected radially by a cord (usually fine steel cables). Successive warp threads do not cross each other, but run parallel, forming a right angle with the tire's plane of symmetry. Additional layers of banding between the carcass and tread strengthen and stiffen the tire fronts.
